Job Summary

Mudsmith is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Liquidation & E-Commerce Specialist to lead the identification, valuation, marketing, and sale of excess, idle, or unneeded parts, inventory, and equipment. This role will manage and grow Mudsmith’s presence on online marketplaces (e.g., eBay, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, & other industry-specific platforms), leveraging social media and digital channels to maximize return on surplus assets and support overall business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Assessment & Management

  • Identify and catalogue excess, obsolete, idle, or unneeded equipment, parts, and inventory across Mudsmith facilities.
  • Assign accurate descriptions, conditions, and valuation for resale.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records of items inventoried.

Online Sales & Marketplace Management

  • Create, optimize, and manage listings on online sales platforms (eBay, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, OilFieldTrader, EquipNet, etc.).
  • Upload high-quality photos, accurate specs, and compelling descriptions to maximize visibility and sale value.
  • Monitor pricing trends, adjust listings, and apply best practices for SEO and marketplace performance.

Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to promote available inventory (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter).
  • Engage with relevant industry groups and forums to broaden exposure.
  • Create regular content highlighting featured items, special deals, and Mudsmith brand.

Sales & Customer Interaction

  • Respond professionally to inquiries, negotiate pricing, and close transactions.
  • Coordinate logistics (pickup, delivery, & shipping arrangements) with customers and internal operations teams.
  • Ensure secure handling of payments and proper documentation for all sales.

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Track and report key metrics (inventory sold, revenue generated, days to sell, profit margin, etc.)
  • Provide monthly performance summaries to leadership.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, pricing strategies, and inventory controls.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all sales activities follow company policies and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Protect company brand and assets throughout resale transactions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with online marketplaces (eBay, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, industry-specific platforms).
  • Strong digital marketing and social media skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong inventory management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create high-quality listings (photography, writing, pricing strategy).
  • Basic logistics coordination and customer service experience.
  • Familiarity with oil & gas industry equipment a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling industrial parts, oilfield equipment, or specialized technical inventory.
  • Knowledge of sales analytics and tracking tools.
  • Experience with eCommerce tools (Shopify, WooCommerce, Sellbrite, etc.)
  • Previous success in maximizing asset recovery.
